DESCRIPTION:The daytime hours (10 – 4) are set aside for a gender-specific\, ‘women only’ safe space to meet the culturally sensitive needs of women to safeguard their confidentiality\, security and anonymity. \nWe are particularly focused on reaching out to the socially isolated\, hard-to-reach women and girls in the BAME groups in need of emotional and mental health support facing multiple barriers to access the mainstream health . \nNB: Please also see the Social Inclusion and wellbeing\nsupport services and activities for women.

DESCRIPTION:One-to-one Counselling support for men for men covering all issues is available from 4 pm to 7 pm in a gender-neutral space. \nDawn provides a multilingual\, culturally sensitive\, professional counselling service to support the emotional and mental health wellbeing of the community. This is an inclusive service open to everyone including the culturally and linguistically specific support needs of the BAME to fill the gap in provisioning of these in the mainstream health. \nWe are an organisational member of BACP – The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. (Registration No: 00219863). \nDawn’s Counsellors:\nAll counsellors are professionally qualified multilingual individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. \nDawn’s Counselling Approach:\nPerson centred integrative approach which is culturally sensitive and tailored to the specific needs of an individual. \nLanguages:\nCounselling Our current suite of in-house language capability includes:\nHindi\, Gujerati\, Punjabi\, Marathi\, Urdu\, Dari\, Farsi\, Pashto\, Cantonese\, Tamil\, Bengali\, Sylheti\, Somali\, Romanian\, Polish\, and a basic command of: German\, Russian and Arabic. \nGender Specific Space Allocation:\ni) Women-only space (10—4) 5-days a week.\nii) Gender-neutral space (4-7) 5 days a week\niii) Saturday opening (11-7) gender-neutral for all ages\, generally reserved for couple counsell9ng and family therapy for relational issues. \n

DESCRIPTION:We launched our Film Club on 21st Jan 2020 that was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor of Harrow\, Cllr Ghanzafar Ali at the Harrow Civic Centre. The first movie we showcased was OM SHANTI OM (2007). \nRegular monthly films will be screened on the first Wednesday of each month at Dawn’s offices from 11 am – 2 pm. \nPlease keep checking this space for further details.
